Vocalocity is a 40-voice contemporary a cappella ensemble founded in 2013, centered in Hod HaSharon, Israel.

Under the musical direction of Kevin Fox (UK) and the baton of house conductor Erez Tal, Vocalocity performs original arrangements of a range of cutting-edge rock/pop/jazz music, both Israeli and International. The singers all come from a background in contemporary a cappella. Vocalocity holds concerts in Israel and abroad and is currently recording its first EP.

Vocalocity operates under the auspices of MILA, the Israeli Center for Choirs and Choral Groups.


Erez Tal, Conductor

Vocalocity’s conductor since its inception. Erez discovered the love of music, and singing in particular, at a young age. He played the cello and piano and studied choir and orchestra conducting at Tel Aviv University.

Erez sings in multiple ensembles, in the Israeli Opera, and with the Philharmonic Orchestra, in addition to conducting and arranging for various orchestras.

In 2006 Erez joined Israeli a cappella pioneer group The Vocal Octet, and from there delved deeper into the a cappella world. Since then he has been arranging, recording and singing in leading ensembles and conducting modern a cappella choirs.


Amir Rothschild, Assistant Conductor

Singer, composer and arranger. Vocalocity’s co-conductor since 2016.

Amir studied at the Kfar-Sava Conservatorium of Music and is an alumnus of Katznelson High School’s music class, where he first became acquainted with a cappella singing. Since then he sang in vocal ensembles such as Tentatone, Pakapella and Men On The Bar, of which he was also manager.


Ron Gang, MILA CEO

Choir conductor and arranger. An alumnus of the Music Teachers College in Tel Aviv. Founded and managed several music schools and acted as musical director of an army band. Member of The Vocal Octet since 1986.

Ron serves as the general manager of MILA - the Israeli Center for Choirs, and as Vocalocity’s manager.


Kevin Fox, Musical Director

Baritone/mouth drummer/coach/arranger/adjudicator and Toronto native Kevin Fox is a recognized voice in the world of contemporary a cappella.

For the last 11 years he has toured the globe with the Grammy-winning supergroup The Swingles, following on the heels of his nine-year stint with Toronto’s Juno-nominated vocal band Cadence.

He serves as Artistic Director of the Israeli choral project Vocalocity, and in 2017 he served as Music Director on the British television programme Sing: Ultimate A Cappella.

Kevin has been an adjudicator and teacher at various

international festivals including the Ontario Vocal Festival,

Rocky Mountain Festival, the ICCAs, and Europa Cantat. His improvisation workshops including ‘Sing Without A Safety Net’ and ‘Beatbox and Beyond’ have received rave reviews across North America and Europe.


Jeff Meshel, Founder

Jeff Meshel founded Vocalocity together with Ron Gang in 2013 and managed it until 2018. Among the activities he led were ‘NotesAre’ (Vocalocity, Achinoam Nini, Roger Treece), joint performances of Vocalocity with The Swingles, and a course for MILA conductors given by the Danish Royal Academy of Music. Jeff was born in the US, resides in Beersheva, and works as an author, playwright and technical editor.
